Reviews for the 2004 Clos Mimi The Carlyle Hotel Paso Robles Syrah:
"Dark violet. Ripe cherry and bitter chocolate on the nose, with earthy licorice and
espresso adding depth. Bitter cherry and blackcurrant flavors are firmed by youthful
acidity, which lends brightness to the finish. Far less extreme than most of the wines
I've had from this producer, showing vivid fruit and less wildness than I was expecting
when I pulled the cork. (89 points)"

"Bottled exclusively for New York's luxury Carlyle Hotel, the 2004 Syrah The Carlyle
Hotel has a dark ruby/purple color and a nice, sweet black currant and cherry nose with
some smoke, earth, and spice. The wine is medium-bodied, not as complex as the Petite
Rousse, but fruity, soft, and savory. Apparently it is only available at the Carlyle
Hotel in New York, so my notes will say no more. (88 points)"
