Reviews for the 2004 Petite Rousse Paso Robles Syrah:
"The nose is young, fresh and fruity with raspberries, cherries, cranberry, spices and oak. The taste is dry,
fresh and fruity, nice acidity, tannins, cranberries, raspberries, cherries, spices and oak. A young, fresh and
fruity wine from Paso Robles with balanced barriers and minerals. An elegant and nice wine that is quite
different from last year's hedonistic vintage. A bargain. Drink:

"Hues of cranberry sheet a swirled glass. Aromas of church incense, white peppercorns, resting maduro tobacco leaf and
wilting violets dance with robed fruit (raspberry, strawberry and red currant). On the palate velvet, silk, sweet oak
combine with a French farmer's market 'rotisserie.' A symphony quietly plays...."

"Tim and Mimi Spear's gift to the world of Syrah... and Syrah aficionados. Never fined or filtered, this dense, flavorful,
100% Paso Robles Syrah is a great follow-up to the Parker-praised 2003 edition."

"Wow! Huge nose! Massive nose of candied cherry, lots of fruit, licorice, almost a grapey, grape
flavor, black jam, currant, even orange peel which is unusual in a red wine. Really impressive nose!
Wow! This is unbelievably well made for a $15 bottle of Syrah. It actually tastes more like a $30 to $40
Hermitage red from the Rhone that has some steroids in it. Just a little more fruit, just a little more
complexity than you would expect from the Northern Rhone. But I'm just completely blown away by this
wine! I'm just stunned by the finish! This is a home run!... I'm shocked! I did not expect this quality!
For $15 this may be one of the best priced value wines we have had on wltv. Great effort by Clos Mimi!
Congratulations!"
