Review for the 1996 Clos Mimi Shell Creek Vineyard:
"Produced in minuscule quantities, this immensely impressive, black/purple-colored Syrah
offers a nose of roasted herbs, meat juices, blackberries, cassis, and earth. Peppery,
spicy notes emerge from this large-scaled, super-concentrated, impressively-endowed,
rustic, brilliantly layered, nuanced wine. It will be even better with 3-5 years of
cellaring. It should keep for 10-12 years. Brilliant! (92 points)"
